About Dr. Kimberly Hodges

Dr. Hodges has been providing mental health and educational support to children, adolescents, parents, and school personnel for more than 16 years. Using a strength-based approach, she specializes in evaluating children (preschool to college age) for common concerns, such as Specific Learning Disabilities (including dyslexia and dysgraphia), ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Intellectual Giftedness and Twice Exceptional students. Dr. Hodges believes that everyone has a unique learning style. Therefore, the results of psychoeducational testing will reveal your child's cognitive profile and serve as a guide for remedial interventions.

Children benefit from talking with a counselor who can relate to their experiences, listen without judgment, and empower them to work through life challenges. In the area of counseling, Dr. Hodges provides lifelong tools for managing stress, regulating anxiety, gaining confidence, maintaining healthier relationships, and planning for the future. With this in mind, she applies various therapeutic models that includes but are not limited to Strength-Based Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.

In addition to providing mental health services in the private sector, Dr. Hodges is a School Psychologist for Hillsborough County Public Schools in Tampa, Florida. With this in mind, she has extensive experience servicing elementary, middle, and high school students. She has first hand knowledge of school curriculums and expectations. Furthermore, through her interactions with a broad range of students, Dr. Hodges understands the academic, social, and emotional pressures that students face each day.

Dr. Hodges earned her master's degree in School Psychology from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University in 2002. Later in 2013, Dr. Hodges obtained her doctorate degree in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University of Sarasota.
